Who is Abu Muhammad al-Julani, who overthrew the Syrian government?
Shiite News: Abu Muhammad al-Julani is the head of the Syrian terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and his real name is Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa. He was born in 1982 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. His family returned to Syria in 1989 where they settled near Damascus.
In 2003, he moved to Iraq, where he joined al-Qaeda that same year as a resistance to American aggression.
Later, Abu Muhammad Al-Julani was captured by the American army in Iraq in 2006 where he was held captive for 5 years.
Then after his release, Al-Julani was given responsibility for the al-Qaeda affiliate ‘Al-Nusra Front’ in Syria, which increased its influence in areas controlled by opposition forces, especially in Idlib.
In the early years, Al-Julani worked with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who was the head of the Takfiri terrorist organization ISIS.
Then in April 2013, Al-Baghdadi suddenly announced that his organization was ending its ties with al-Qaeda and was moving to Syria, which merged the Nusra Front into a new organization ISIS.
However, Abu Al-Julani rejected this change and maintained his loyalty to al-Qaeda. In his first television interview in 2014, Julani told Al-Jazeera that Islamic law would be imposed in Syria and the country’s minorities would not be accepted.
However, over time, Al-Julani seemed to move away from this plan and instead focused on strengthening his group within Syria’s borders.
Then in July 2016, the Syrian city of Aleppo was captured by the government and the armed groups there began to move towards Idlib.
After that, al-Julani announced that his group had changed its name to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham.
By early 2017, thousands of terrorists had fled Aleppo to Idlib and al-Julani announced that many of these groups had been merged with his group, which was renamed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
The rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham clearly aims to make Syria a safe haven for terrorists.
All of this they are doing under the guise of Islam, wanting to impose their own system.
There are also reports of the death of this important terrorist commander in recent clashes, however, this has not been confirmed by any party.
