Pakistani diplomatic mission ignored Shiite concerns

Shiite News: Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen leader Nasir Abbas Shirazi has strongly criticized the behavior of Pakistani diplomatic missions in a statement.

He said that the main role of Pakistani diplomatic missions around the world should be to convey the feelings and concerns of the Pakistani community living abroad to the Pakistani government.

Especially those people who provide significant remittances for Pakistan are Pakistan’s ambassadors and spokespersons, and it is the important responsibility of the diplomatic staff to convey their voice to the state.

Nasir Abbas Shirazi said that even in a country like the United States, where democracy and human rights are claimed to be upheld, Pakistani embassies seem to be failing to fulfill their responsibilities.

Recently, the Pakistani embassy in the US refused to receive a resolution protesting the atrocities and alleged genocide in Parachinar. The resolution was presented by Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen on the appeal to reach Pakistani embassies around the world.

He added that Maulana Qaiser Abbas, who is a respected figure in the US and is active for the rights of the Pakistani community, along with a delegation, tried to present the resolution to the Pakistani embassy in Los Angeles. However, the embassy flatly refused to accept the resolution, which is an undiplomatic and condemnable behavior.

Nasir Abbas Shirazi called this behavior a shame for Pakistan and demanded that immediate action be taken against such diplomatic staff, an explanation be sought from them and they be recalled.

He announced that he would send a formal note of concern to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the matter so that the issue can be resolved and such behavior can be prevented in the future.

People protesting globally against the ongoing tension and atrocities in Parachinar say that effective use of diplomatic channels is the only way to reach the Pakistani government.

Nasir Abbas Shirazi stressed that diplomatic missions should realize their responsibilities and take the grievances of the community seriously.
