Road heading to Parachinar blocked! Disconnected from country, fear of human tragedy
Shiite News: Millions of people have been stranded in Parachinar, the capital of Kurram District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to road closure for the past ten days.
Local tribes have started sit-ins in different areas against the closure of the main highway between Parachinar and Peshawar.
Tori Bangash tribal leaders Jalal Bangash and Allama Tajmal Hussain have said that the citizens are facing severe difficulties due to the road closure.
This situation has led to shortages of food items, oil, and medicine. All business establishments and educational institutions have also been closed in protest.
Social leader Mir Afzal Khan has warned that visas and tickets of workers going abroad are being affected due to road closures while students are losing valuable time.
He said that if the traffic routes are not opened immediately, a major human tragedy may occur.
He further said that due to shortage of medicines in hospitals, people are losing their lives due to lack of treatment.
It should be noted that this road has been closed due to security concerns after the firing incident on the convoy in Sada on October 12.
On the seventh day of the bloody war in Parachinar, 36 people were martyred, curfew was imposed in the city.
Kurram district is practically isolated from Pakistan due to the disconnection from Peshawar. A net User Yusuf Anwar wrote on the social networking website that Kurram District has been cut off from Pakistan.
Traffic is blocked, the population is besieged and the situation is dire with food and medicine shortages
