36 martyred in Parachinar War, curfew imposed in city

Shiite News: As many as 36 people were killed and 80 injured in clashes between tribes in Parachinar district of Kurram.

Due to the clashes, transportation routes and educational institutions are closed.

According to police and hospital sources, an exchange of fire started between two families over the construction of fronts in Bushehra area of Upper Karam.

Due to the lack of timely ceasefire, a series of clashes started in different areas of Piwar, Teri Mangal, Kunj Alizai, Maqbulpara Chamkani, Kadman, Sada Balashkhel, Sangina and Kharkli areas of the district, which continues for the seventh day today.

Six more people were killed and 10 were injured in fresh clashes and a total of 36 people from both sides were killed and 80 were injured.

Due to the clashes, all transportation routes including Peshawar-Parachinar highway are closed while educational institutions are also closed.

Due to the closure of the roads, the citizens are facing severe problems and the stocks of food items, medicine and oil in the market have ended.

Tribal leaders Malik Fakhr Zaman Bangash and Haji Saleem Khan say that there is no benefit to anyone in fighting, the peace of the area is being destroyed due to incidents of lawlessness.

While Jalal Bangash, the leader of the Turi Bangash tribes, said that if the government takes serious steps for a ceasefire, there can be an immediate ceasefire.

Deputy Commissioner District Kurram Javidullah Mehsud said that the process of negotiations is going on through the elders and Jirga members to stop the clashes between the tribes.

And several ceasefire attempts have been made and efforts will continue till ceasefire.
