Shiite News: Mehr News Agency quoted Geo News that Pakistani Ambassador Mudassar Tipu said that the accident took place in Yazd, 700 kilometers away from Tehran. Air tickets for Yazd were not available, so the officers went by car.
He said that there were 51 passengers in the bus that had an accident, the cause of the accident was over-speeding and brake failure of the bus. Due to over-speeding, the bus hit a school wall.
Mudassar Tipu says that 28 Pakistani citizens have been confirmed dead in the Yazd accident, while 23 Pakistanis are injured, the condition of many of the injured is critical.
The Pakistani ambassador said that the Pakistani embassy started working on an emergency basis and contacted the Iranian authorities as soon as the information was received, the officials of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the local government of Yazd are also in touch.
He said that we are trying to help the injured in every possible way, Pakistani diplomatic officials are on the way from Tehran to help the injured.
