No more passport requirement for pilgrims traveling to Iraq by air
Shiite News: According to Mehr News Agency, Pakistani media have been quoted as saying that Pakistan and Iraq have decided to remove the passport requirement for Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iraq by air.
According to details, Pakistani Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iraqi Ambassador Hamid Abbas Lafta at the Ministry of Interior.
In this meeting, it was decided that passports will not be required for Pakistani pilgrims going to Iraq by air. On the occasion of Arbaeen, instead of travel agents, the Iraqi Embassy itself will issue visas to pilgrims and the quota of pilgrims will be increased.
The Federal Interior Minister has requested that more visas will be issued for visitors this year than last year.
