Karachi: Suicide attack plot on Muharram procession thwarted

Shiite News: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Karachi has claimed to have foiled the suicide attack plan on the procession during Muharram.

DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh told the press conference that an accused has been arrested in CTD operation in Etihad Town.
He said that the accused Shoaib was the commander of the outlawed TTP in Dara Adam Khel, there is a reward of Rs 20 lakh on the head of the arrested accused.
DIG CTD said that the accused had kidnapped and killed 16 coal mine workers in Khyber Agency.
Kalashnikov, hand grenade, explosive material and IED were recovered from the accused.
He said that the accused is involved in kidnapping for ransom and attacks on military convoys, the son of the accused, Zakaullah, has been killed in an encounter with the army.
DIG CTD said that the accused wanted to commit suicide attack on the procession during Muharram.
