Rangers chief assures clerics for durable peace in city during Ramazan

Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, chief Major General Bilal Akbar has assured clerics of all-out efforts to maintain peace in the city during Ramazan and sought their support, urging them to report at the Rangers Helpline any illegal activity including forced collection of Zakat and Fitrana, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

At a meeting held at Rangers Headquarters with a delegation of clerics from different schools of thought, the Rangers DG briefed them about security arrangements made by the paramilitary force in coordination with police for Ramazan.

“The Rangers DG apprised the Ulema about the decrease in targeted killings and other heinous crimes,” said the Rangers statement. “They were also told about the security arrangements made by the Rangers in coordination with police for Ramazan.

The Rangers DG urged the Ulema to display exemplary interfaith harmony and solidarity during the holy month.”

He also urged them to report at Rangers Helpline 1101 any illegal activity including forced collection of Zakat and Fitrana.
Maj Gen Akbar assured the Ulema that he would leave no stone unturned for a peaceful Ramazan.

“The Ulema showed satisfaction over the Rangers performance and said that they would fully support Rangers actions against criminals including individuals involved in forced collection of Zakat and Fitrana,” added the statement.
