muharamNine takfiri terrorists, who were released on bail from various jails of Punjab in September, are planning attacks against Shia Muslims during Muharram, warns a report of an intelligence agency forwarded to the Inspector General Police Punjab.

The takfiri terrorists of banned outfits of Taliban and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi who are notorious for inhuman terrorism, are trying to regroup, said the report citing sources within the terror network. These terrorists were arrested on charges of bomb blasts and terror attacks but were released on bail.

Considered as a security-threat, intelligence agencies particularly the Special Branch (SB) and Counter Terrorism department (CTD) are monitoring the movements of these terrorists, the report said.

According to the field staff of the Special Branch (SB) and Counter Terrorism department (CTD, these terrorists have contacted their accomplices in the proscribed organisations.

The report suggested strict vigilance of the said terrorists to foil their plans as well as to avert any untoward incident in the province.

The situation warrants close coordination among all intelligence agencies for sharing information and helping nabbing the terrorists before they succeed in their plans, it said.

The terrorists released on bails also included those arrested on charges of involvement in bomb blast at Sakhi Sarwar Shrine of Dera Ghazi Khan.
