Shiites end sit-in after release of arrested innocent youths

Shia Muslims announced an end to the sit-in they staged on Numaish Chowrangi on Thursday noon to protest against the crackdown on Shias in Karachi.

Shia leaders Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain, Maulana Ali Murtaza Zaidi, Maulana Sadiq Raza Taqvi and other leaders decided that namaz-e-janaza of three martyrs should be delayed till the release of the arrested youths.

They carried coffins of the martyrs to Numaish Chowrangi and staged a sit-in that lasted for some hours. Police finally accepted their genuine demand and released the youths they had rounded up on Wednesday and some days ago.

Then, namaz-e-janaza of Nisar Ali, Bilal Ali and Zahid Zaidi was held. They were murdered in different areas on Wednesday.
