MWM observes the anniversary of demolition of Jannat ul Baqee

mwm women protest karachi pSupporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen staged a demonstration on Monday to mark the 87th anniversary of demolition of Jannat ul Baqee.
The MWM’s supporters were lifting banners and placards and raising slogans against the demolition outside Karachi Press Club. They said they observe 8th of Islamic month Shawwal as a black day to commemorate the anniversary of the demolition.

Speaking to the protestors, Khanum Z ahra Najafi, secretary general MWM women wing Karachi said that the demolition of Jannat ul Baqee graveyard of Medina was a sign of contempt of Islam and Islamic culture.

She said that rulers of Saudi Arabia belonging to House of Saud violated the sanctity of Islam, Islamic culture and universally recognized humane values by demolition of the ancient graveyard of Jannat ul Baqee in Medina.

“In 1925, the holy shrines of progeny of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be upon Them), and the graves of wives and companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) were reduced to ground,” she said.

Khanum Najafi said that all civilized nations preserve such places as their national heritage but House of Saud follow an ideology that don’t accept the civility to preserve the Jannat ul Baqee.

She said that whole of Muslim Ummah demand the Saudi Arabia’s rulers to immediately reconstruct the shrines and graves of Jannat ul Baqee graveyard.

The protestors denounced the United States and all those supporting the Saudi crime against the sanctity of Islam. They said it is obligatory on Saudi rulers not to test the religious feelings of Muslims around the world. They said that a vast majority of Muslims believe in constructing of shrines on graves and they should not impose their rigid ideology on Muslims around the world.
