Pakistani politicians on Friday welcomed the parliament’s decision that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the conflict between Arab Kingdoms and Yemeni democratic forces to be able to play a proactive diplomatic role to end the crisis.

They also denounced the role of the lawmakers of PML-N, who were trying to influence the whole parliament for sending Pak-Army, the world’s sixth largest army, into the ongoing Arab conflict. They are of the view that Pakistan army has played pivotal role in term of bringing all democratic forces on one page for sovereignty of the country, which is already suffering war for the last many years.

Chairman Sunni Itehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza, President Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Niazi Group Pir Masoom Shah, President Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammed Zubair, Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Secretary General Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM) Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari have applauded the parliament’s resolution to be stayed away from the Saudi-led coalition forces’ aggression on Yemen.

In Saudi aggression on Yemen more than 700 people, most of them are Yemni children, have lost their lives. Although Saudi Arab last year spent more than 70 billion dollars on its defense, which is the fourth highest defense spending in the world, she is trying to make Pakistan involved in this conflict to strengthen its coalition against Yemeni democratic forces. It is pertinent to mention here that the resolution, in the parliament also expressed serious concern on the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in Yemen and its implications for peace and stability of the region.

They said that the Arab kingdoms were trying to give this conflict a sectarian colour, which is nothing but a conspiracy, hatched by Israel and the US, against Islam and Ummah. They said that Ale Saud and other Arab royal families were following the lines of Zionism, and just trying to prolong their illegitimate autocracies.

This is highly commendable that our lawmakers supported the regional and international efforts for restoration of peace and stability in the region, they said.

“Harman Sharfain and other holy places are safe and secure. Houthis or any Muslim even cannot think about any attack on sacred places in Saudi Arabia but Ale Saud has a history to destroy holy places within their country in the past,” they observed.
