KARACHI: A total of 182 stranded nationals arrived in Pak Navy Ship PNS Aslat at Karachi port.

The evacuees included 146 Pakistanis, 36 people to include Indians, Canadian, Chinese, Filipino, Syrian, Indonesian and British, said Mission Commander Commodore Zahid Ilyas.
PNS Aslat was greeted by the chairman of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and high officials of the Pak Navy, while the port area stood well decorated with “Welcome to Pakistan” signs and all. As the ship berthed, Pakistanis disembarked waving flags and chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans.
The stranded were anticipated earlier, but PNS Aslat had to detour to Ash Shihr port instead, as the situation in Mukalla deteriorated on last Friday due Al-Qaeda’s jailbreak freeing 300 inmates.
In the rescue attempts by Pakistan for trapped in Yemen, 849 have been rescued so far.
Previously, an Aircraft carrying 503 Pakistanis came back from Yemen on March 31. Morever, another 186 were rescued by a Chinese vessel who took them to Djibouti. It was from there that all Pakistani were brought in by a special PIA flight.
