Shia Pesh Imam and notables booked on false charges

A Shia Pesh Imam and 10 notables were booked on false charges in Gulshan-e-Maymar Sector X-3 on Thursday night. Four notables were arrested on Friday night.

Shia Muslims were preparing for International Quds Day. Some persons had removed the graffiti about Quds Day rally. Shia youths staged a bike rally on Thursday and some miscreants tried to sabotage the rally.

The miscreants belong to the ruling PPP and they got police on their side. They tortured the youths. Later, police registered a case against Maulana Baqar Zaidi and 10 others implicating them in false charges. Maulana Zaidi is pesh imam of mosque of Muhibban-e-Aal-e-Mustafa.

Residents of the area disclosed that PPP’s officials Nasir alias Paplait, Abbas and Irfan were involved in harassment of Shia youths. They instigated police to book Shias in false case.

Shia leaders have condemned the incident and demanded withdrawal of false case and release of the arrested persons.
