Pakistani military general opposed anti-Yemen Saudi-led war policy
Well-known retired military general of Pakistan Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Amjad Shoaib has opposed the pro-Saudi Yemen policy of Pakistani regime saying that Operation Decisive Storm against Arab Muslim country Yemen was illegal and amounted to unjustifiable intervention into internal affairs of Yemen.
In a news channel’s talk show, Mr. Amjad Shoaib said that taking sides in a conflict between Muslim nations could trigger disharmony and disunity among entire Islamic Ummah and among Pakistanis too. Hence, he advised the government, not to join Saudi-led war coalition against Yemen.
“Yemen has a history of civil wars and intra-Yemenis tussle since long. Current crisis too is internal matter of Yemen and no outside force has any legal or moral authority to meddle into intra-Yemenis affairs. United Nations has neither authorized war nor assigned any of the war coalition member states to use force in any part of Yemen,” he argued.
He said that territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia was another issue and his expansion of influence into any other country by use force is another matter. He urged Pakistani regime that it is not Pakistani headache to play part in foreign intervention of Saudi Arabia.
