Taliban formally launches its activities in Karachi

Outlawed Taliban has formally launched its activities in Karachi where they have collected donations and also extorted money from shop keepers.
Since long ago, reports had it that Taliban remained active in Sohrab Goth area but Taliban maintained a low profile in Karachi.

Now, it has been confirmed that Taliban has extorted cash from shopkeepers and businessmen at Al Asif Square in Sohrab Goth area. Similar activities are reported in other parts of Karachi as well.

Federal interior minister Rehman Malik has been making tall claims of anti-terrorist operation in Karachi and rest of Pakistan. But, not outcome of those operations has yet come.

Taliban’s activities indicate that they enjoy support from powerful quarters. If they enjoy government or agency’s support, then government and the agency should be aware of the dire consequences of this policy. The said policy will push country into a quagmire.
