Two Deobandi fanatics of proscribed ASWJ were arrested on Friday for facilitating the Jan 31 suicide attack on a Shia Muslims’ mosque in Lakhi Dar Shikarpur district of Sindh.

“Ghulam Rasool and Khalil Brohi had provided stay to the bomber a night before he blew himself up at the Imambargah,” Saqib Ismail, a senior police officer, said. He said that the bomber had stayed in Haji Khwasti Village.

Ismail said that explosives were also recovered from the custody of two Deobandi terrorists. Brohi belongs to Dera Murad Jamali while Rasool is from Khanpur.

Over 72 Shia namazis were martyred and scores of others were wounded when a Deobandi suicide bomber ripped through Masjid/Imambargah Karbala-e-Moalla during Friday prayers in Shikarpur last month.

Wahhabis-allied Jundulla (in fact Jund-ush-Shaitan), a banned Deobandi militant group, had claimed responsibility for the deadly attack. Aurangzeb Farooqi of the Deobandi ASWJ, mother outfit of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, was in Shikarpur on that fateful day.
