Terrorist identified and FIR registered

The failed suicide bomber has been identified from his finger prints record that was sent to National Data-Base Registration Authority (NADRA) to establish his identity. The Deobandi bomber belonged to Jhang District where banned Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi continues their terrorist and fanatic activities with the new name ASWJ that too was proscribed in 2012.

 

The police have prepared an initial report of the Imambargah Qasr-i-Sakina bomb blast, by sending fingerprints and sketch of the suicide bomber to NADRA for verification. However, identity was not disclosed to media so far.

According to the initial report, the suicide bomber vest contained around six kilograms of explosives and ball bearings. The police also found a live grenade was also near the body of the suicide bomber, which was later defused by the bomb disposal squads. The police said that the bomber had the trigger of the vest on his right hand.

According to the initial report, a case of the blast has been registered against “unknown persons” at the Shehzad Town Police Station, on the complaint of a member of the Imam Bargah Committee despite the fact that Jund-ush-Shaitan’s Fahad Marwat claimed responsibility for the attack.

The police, meanwhile, said that they conducted search operation in Ghauri Town, Iqbal Town, Shakrial and Qutbal Town and rounded up 15 suspects to broaden the scope of investigation in the case. The police claimed to have seized a large cache of arms and ammunition from their possession. The police said that one of three suspects belong to a banned outfit.
