World-renowned Atomic Scientist of Pakistan Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan passes away

Shiite News: World-renowned Atomic Scientist of Pakistan Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, 85 has passed away, Today. He was taken to KRL Hospital due to a lungs infection but he succumbs to death.

His funerals will be held in the courtyard of Faisal Masjid with official protocol.

He left a widow and 2 daughters as a bereaved family.

Late Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was born in Bhopal, 1936. After the partition of united India, his family migrated to Pakistan in 1947. He graduated in Engineering from the University of the Netherland in 1967 and he did his Ph.D. from the University of Belgium in Metallurgical Engineering. After that, he joined Physical Dynamics Research Laboratory. In May 1998 Pakistan experienced a successful nuclear test following India, which was supervised by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan received 3 Presidential Awards and 2 times Marks of Distinction as well as Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
