Congregations on anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS)’s departure from Medina
Congregations are being held in all over the world including Pakistan to commemorate the anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS)’s departure from Medina on Rajab 28, 60 A.H.
Condolence meetings are being held in all over Pakistan. In Karachi, central mourning procession will be brought out from Jafar-e-Tayyar Society.
Imam Hussain (AS) started travelling to Mecca from Medina and from Mecca he travelled to Karbala (Iraq). He was opposed to the tyrant Umayyad ruler Yazid son of Muavia. He announced he wanted to reform the Islamic society. He said that the oppressive regime of Umayyad dynasty had defamed Islam and Muslims. They distorted Islam.
Shia Muslims observe the anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS)’s departure on Rajab 28 every year.
