IG Punjab assures to solve Shia community’s problems on priority basis

Shiite News: A 9-member delegation of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Punjab called on IG Punjab Police Inam Ghani at CPO. During the meeting, Shia Ulema briefed the IG Punjab on various issues including security of Majalis and Jaloos on the arrival of Muharram.

The head of the delegation and Provincial Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi thanked the IG Punjab for listening to the issues and releasing immediate instructions for their redressal of grievances and said that the Punjab Police has always provided all possible cooperation and support.

Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani appreciated the cooperation of Punjab Police for the security of Masajid and Imambargahs said that he was grateful to the Punjab Police on behalf of the entire community for their diligence with which the police teams perform their duties. During the meeting, the scholars expressed complete satisfaction over the security arrangements of the previous processions and Majalis congregations.

The delegation of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen led by Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi included 9 scholars including Officer Raza Khan, Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani while Additional IG Operations Sahibzada Shehzad Sultan was also present on the occasion.

IG Punjab Inam Ghani has said that co-operation of religious scholars and religious tolerance is the need of the hour for inter-faith harmony in the present times, hence the need for scholars of all schools of thought as well as citizens for national integrity and social peace and unity. We have to play our individual and collective role and we as a nation have to increase our tolerance and forgiveness. He further said that police teams in all the districts of the province were performing their security duties of Masajid and Imambargahs diligently and utmost efficiency.

The IG said that the solution to the problems facing the Shia community would be ensured on a priority basis in the future as well. He directed the field officers to maintain close coordination with the Shia elders in their areas so that better security arrangements could be made during the holy days and at the same time avoid all the shortcomings in resolving the problems and grievances of the Shia community.
