Unwarranted postponement of by-election in Nagar constituency-4 is so sad, Sheikh Mirza Ali
Shiite News: Postponing the by-election of constituency-4 Nagar without any rational rises many questions. The silence of the Election Commission on an important issue is also meaningful. These views were expressed by Sheikh Mirza Ali, Provincial President of Shia Ulema Council Gilgit-Baltistan and Chairman Hussainiya Supreme Council Nagar in a statement.
He further said that the Chief Election Commission had promised to release the election schedule on March 25, but unfortunately, it is yet to be issue and no seriousness is seen in this regard. He added that Amjad Hussain Advocate was elected from Constituency 4 in the elections of 2020 but he had resigned from the seat of Constituency 4 in December 2020 due to being elected from two constituencies.
He elaborated that despite the passage of seven months, depriving the people of the constituency from development projects including absence of representation in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly is an immense injustice, which is a matter of concern in the entire constituency. District departments have not yet been formed in the newborn district, which is a question mark. In such a situation, suffering of a large constituency is by no means fair. Therefore, the Hussainiya Supreme Council demands that by-elections be held before Muharram to alleviate the anxiety and sense of deprivation of the people of the constituency.
