Imamia Ulema Punjab come into the action against the anti-Shia policies of the Mahakmah-e-Auqaf Punjab

Shiite News: Shia clerics came into the action against the reduction of Shia representation in government institutions and committees, including the Mutahida Ulema Board. Shia scholars held a press conference at the provincial office of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Punjab along with Allama Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi, central leader of MWM, and Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, provincial secretary general of Punjab.

Allama Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi said that the Shia community is being abused in the Mutahida Ulema Board. Among the founders, sacrificing citizens and front line donor for the dignity of Pakistan, the Shian-e-Haider-e-Karar always presented as a vanguard of the country. Shia sect in Pakistan plays a key role in the development of dearest homeland. He said that religious hatred was spread in the past for chaos in this country. Former rulers divided the country. Sectarian warfare has been going on here for the last 40 years. Every effort has made to sideline us, but the enemies remained failed in their all conspiracies.

He further said that we have always been loyal to our country, we have made sacrifices for our country and we will continue to make sacrifices for the sanctity of our beloved homeland.

He warned that a once again sectarian war was being waged against peaceful Shia community in Pakistan. The mourners were chained unconstitutionally and illegally. Commemoration of Martyrdom of Syed Al-Shuhada Imam Hussain Alaih Salam and his companions (PBUH) is our worship and life blood. We will never back-off from it in any way or at any cost. “We were abused during the PML N rule in Pakistan,” he said. Therefore, we were not expecting the same from the PTI government but the bureaucracy is still playing the role of Yazid.

Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi said that there are ten Sunni representatives in the Muttahida Ulema Board, six Ahl-e-Hadiths and five of us. Our number in the United Ulema Board has been halved. He intimated that discrimination is unacceptable, we are being discriminated in the Muttahida Ulema Board and in protest of said injustice, we have notified to the Punjab Assembly grievances , while everyone supported them but no response came till yet. The government should pay attention to this sensitive issue without wasting time any further.
He said that gathering of scholars here today is our protest. If not addressed, we will protest peacefully. Our protest will continue until the number of our Ulema in the Muttahida Ulema Board is equal to that of Ulema of other sects.

He announced that there would be a protest outside the Punjab Assembly on June 21, followed by a symbolic protest on June 25, if attention was not paid despite said 2 protests then workers from all over the Punjab would be brought to Lahore and there would be peaceful protest against this unacceptable injustice.
Press conference was attended by large numbers of shia clerics including Allama Amjad Ali Abidi, Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani, Allama Gulzar Fayazi, Allama Mubashir Naqvi, Allama Aqeel Sial, Allama Mazhar Hussain, Allama Iqbal Beheshti, Allama Niaz Hussain Alvi , Allama Ali Tajmal Talhara, Allama Thaqleen Haider Abidi and other Imams of Masajid as well Congregation of Namaz-e-Juma from across Punjab.
