Good news for visitors of Karbala and Najaf
Shiite News: Good news for the pilgrims of Karbala and Najaf, the government of Pakistan has made a big decision. Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrives at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, where he was welcomed by Iraqi Interior Minister Usman Al-Ghanimi. Qureshi discussed bilateral issues of two countries in a meeting with Iraqi Interior Minister.
On the occasion, the Foreign Minister said that Pakistan attaches special importance to bilateral relations with Iraq. Pakistan and Iraq have long-standing fraternal ties based on equal religious, cultural and historical foundations. Pakistanis are deeply attached to Iraq from a religious point of view. He added that more than 200,000 Pakistanis from all walks of life visit Iraq every year. In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we are introducing a “Pilgrim Management Policy” to alleviate the travel difficulties of the pilgrims and provide them with proper facilities.
The Foreign Minister drew attention to facilitating the obtaining of visas for Pakistani visitors, noting the efforts to set up a Pakistani Consulate and Medical Center in Karbala. He further said that like Iraq, Pakistan has also fought a long war to crush the monster of terrorism. In the war on terror, Pakistan has sustained a lot of financial and human losses. The two countries can benefit from each other’s experiences in combating terrorism effectively.
Iraqi Interior Minister Usman Al-Ghanimi welcomed the Foreign Minister to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and thanked the Pakistani leadership and people for Pakistan’s support for the Iraqi brothers during the Corona pandemic. Iraqi Interior Minister Usman Al-Ghanimi assured Shah Mahmood Qureshi of his all possible cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
