Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Iraq on a three-day visit

Shiite News: Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Iraq on a three-day visit at the invitation of the Iraqi counterpart. On this occasion he was welcomed by Iraqi Vice Foreign Minister Dr. Saleh Tamimi, Ambassador of Pakistan in Iraq Ahmed Amjad Ali and senior Iraqi Foreign Ministry officials.

During his brief visit to Iraq, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with his Iraqi counterpart Fawad Hussein and other senior Iraqi leaders. The meetings will focus on the development of bilateral relations in various fields, including bilateral trade, investment, education, agriculture, information, technology and defense.

The Foreign Minister will brief the Iraqi leadership on Pakistan’s position on key regional issues, including the Palestinian issue, the Kashmir issue and the Afghan peace process. The promotion of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq at the level of the OIC, the United Nations and its affiliates will also be discussed.

The Foreign Minister will hold talks with the Iraqi leadership to facilitate the thousands of Pakistani visitors to Iraq each year and make better travel arrangements.

It is hoped that the visit of the Foreign Minister will help in further strengthening the bilateral fraternal relations between the two countries.
