Shiite News: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Head of Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, while welcoming the President of the United Nations General Assembly to Pakistan, said that the United Nations needs to play a leading and decisive role for world peace. And there is a common platform that was supposed to play a role for basic human rights and world peace. Unfortunately, this role could not be played due to expediency and powerful states. Celebrating the day of peace missions alone cannot bring peace to the world.

He expressed these views in a message issued by the President of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkir on the occasion of his arrival in Pakistan on May 29, World Peace Day and Takbir Day. Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that the defense and protection of one’s homeland is the responsibility of every individual along with the state. Yom Takbir also draws attention to important responsibilities in this regard.

He elaborated on the occasion of the arrival of UN General Assembly President Volkan Bozkir in Pakistan that the President of the General Assembly was coming to Pakistan on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Peacekeepers (Peacekeeper’s Day) declared by the United Nations in 1948. But unfortunately even today there is no peace in Kashmir and Palestine, the people of Kashmir and Palestine are falling prey to Hindutva and Zionist extremist ideologies and statements.

Allama Syed Sajid Naqvi further said that the United Nations, which had to play a leading and decisive role for basic human rights and world peace, unfortunately fell prey to the influence of expediency and powerful states. That’s why, Today, weak Muslim and Non-Muslim states are victims of oppression, aggression and colonialism. He added that awareness can be provided only by allocating days but practical steps are necessary for lasting peace otherwise the situation will deteriorate with the passage of time.
