Shiite News: Allama Muhammad Afzal Haidari, Secretary General of the Federation of Madaris Al Shia of Pakistan, has clarified that the Waqf Property Act is against the established principles of Shariat Muhammadi, which has been rejected by the leadership of all Islamic schools of thought. He said that the waqf place for a mosque, madrasa or imambargah cannot be used for any purpose other than its intended purpose, no one has the right to dispose of it and no one has the authority to change or sell the waqf.
He further said that in the reference of a video link meeting with the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and the four Governors at the Governor House Lahore on April 5, it was assured that the hastily passed Waqf Property Act has been stopped without taking the Ulema into confidence. And a committee headed by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri will review the controversial act. Therefore, the Disputed Waqf Property Act cannot be implemented.
Allama Muhammad Afzal Haideri said that no director of the endowment department of the government of Pakistan has the authority to seal, sell or dispose of waqf property for any other purpose.
