He expressed such views in an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Israeli aggression against Palestine. He said that the establishment of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was due to the Palestinian cause, so in this hour of need, the Muslim Ummah must move forward in full solidarity with and support for its Palestinian brothers and sisters. He added that brutal and indiscriminate use of force by Israeli army against Palestinians and deprived them of by the right of self-defense is a serious and blatant violation of international law and principles, including international human and fundamental rights. The Foreign Minister further said that support for the Palestinian cause has been a clear and prominent principle of Pakistan’s foreign policy since its inception. Words were not enough to condemn organized crime against the Palestinians, the deteriorating situation in occupied Palestine due to Israeli military operations, it was continuation of colonial policies still in sophisticate global era. Ongoing aggression, siege and cruel methods of punishing the collective population are unbearable at any cost. There was no justification for the recent Israeli aggression and it could not be ignored. He boldly and courageously expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and government in defending their legitimate rights and said that Pakistan strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli air strikes on Gaza, the desecration of the Masjid Al-Aqsa and the attacks on innocent participant of a prayer congregation in it.

“We are also deeply concerned about the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories and the eviction of Palestinians from their properties,” he reiterated.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi of the view that the forced eviction of Palestinians from Sheikh Al-Jarrah, the change in the population ratio, the efforts of Al-Quds to change the Arab Islamic and Christian culture are illegal and unacceptable.

“We must take all necessary steps to stop the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people and their property,” Qureshi said.

The Foreign Minister called on the international community to immediately stop the brutal use of force and human rights abuses against the Palestinians and to ensure the safety of the Palestinians. Simultaneously, he demanded for the immediate implementation of UN resolutions and for Israel not to be held accountable for crimes against humanity.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi further said that the attempts to unjustly weigh Israel and the oppressed Palestinians on the same scale and put them both on the same footing were not only unjustified but also highly deplorable. OIC, the collective representative voice of the Muslim Ummah, should work together to dispel this perception of deception.

While briefing to the media after the OIC meeting, the Foreign Minister said that it was the responsibility of the Ummah to take a stand against the manner in which the atrocities were being perpetrated in Palestine. He added that unarmed participants of prayer gathering were tortured in the month of Ramadan, children and women were targeted while staying at homes, there was no precedent in the recent past and it deserves less condemnation.
