Pro-TTP Gul Bahadur killed in drone strike in N Waziristan?
A U.S. drone strike targeting a takfiri Taliban-linked terrorist killed at least six takfiris in Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan yesterday, security officials said.
The strike was aimed at hitting the stronghold of notorious terrorist H Gul Bahadur, as well as the nearby base of an Uzbek commander in North Waziristan, one of 7 semi-autonomous tribal districts (of FATA) that border Afghanistan.
“A U.S. drone fired two missiles which hit a compound and a vehicle in Alwara Mandi of North Waziristan… killing 6 terrorists,” a senior security official said.
The area has been a safe-haven for takfiri al-Qaeda and Taliban terrorists since the early 2000s. Another security official confirmed the strike and casualties.
The area is generally off-limits to journalists, making it difficult to independently verify the number and identity of the dead.
