Prime Minister approves Gilgit Baltistan development package which the federal government called historic.

While presiding over a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he approved the package.

The PM noted the development of GB among the priorities of the present government.

According to a press release which the PM Media Wing released, Chief Minister GB Khalid Khursheed also attended the meeting.

Besides, Asad Umar, Muhammad Hamad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Amin-ul-Haq, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and other senior officers also attended.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to exploit the huge potential of tourism that existed in Gilgit Baltistan.

He further directed the GB Chief Minister to give special attention to the promotion of tourism and protection of environment.

The projects in various sectors will not only herald a new chapter of development and progress in Gilgit Baltistan but will also help address the problems of the area and create numerous employment opportunities.
