Allama Nazir Taqvi supports protest sit in against enforced disappearance which the joint action committee for Shia missing persons have announced.

Shia Ulema Council Sindh chapter president backed the joint committee’s demand as legitimate.

While referring to Protection of Pakistan Act, he said that even that law don’t allow more than 90 days detention.

He said that after that they need to produce them in the courts of law if have any charge. But he lamented that innocent Shia Muslims have been suffering from incarceration for years.

Moreover, he asked Corps Commander (Karachi) and DG Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) to help resolve this issue.

He said that Shia Islamic parties’ leaders never supported criminals but they call for legal rights of the victims of enforced disappearance.

Allama Nazir Taqvi said that either they should be released or produced in the courts of law.

Furthermore, he said that their families also have right to meet them; therefore, the authorities concerned should also meet legal requirements.

Meanwhile, Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal announced sit in protest against enforced disappearance from April02, 2021.

The leader of joint action committee for Shia missing persons said that they would begin sit-in protest in Karachi.

He further said that if the victims of enforced disappearance don’t return to families by March 31, the committee will start sit-in.

The MWM Pakistan deputy secretary general said that enforced disappearance of innocent Pakistanis defame the country across the world.

Besides, peaceful, law-abiding and patriot Shia Muslim community also detest this humiliating illegal detention.
