According to SSP Irfan Bahadur, the Steel Town police arrested Khalilullah alias Qari, an active member of the banned outfit.

It is relevant to add here that outlawed Sipah Sahaba (ASWJ), mother wing of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has become the basic recruitment platform for all takfiri terrorists, including those belong to TTP.

However, SSP Malir further said that Khalilullah alias Qari belonged to outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (Swat group).

He joined the outfit on persuasion of his friend in 2007 in Swat but he had to undergo hiding after the military operation in the valley.

Moreover, the SSP said that the TTP (Taliban) militant received military training in Afghanistan.
Later, the terrorist conducted reconnaissance of Razzaqabad police training centre in 2012 along with another militant, Javed Swati.

He also remained involved in firing on a vehicle during bank robbery in Orangi Town in the same year,” he said.

In 2018, he once again carried out reconnaissance of the police training centre along with another militant, Tariq alias Button, and planned suicide attack on the centre.

For this purpose, he had also rented a house in Orangi Town where he remained busy making plots for nefarious activities along with his accomplices.

Therefore, SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said with his arrest police had foiled a major attempt of terrorism.

“He had also remained involved in sending families of the militants to Afghanistan and also bringing them back.
