According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the DGMOs of the two countries held discussions over the established mechanism of hotline contact.

Both sides agreed to the strict observance of all agreements, understandings and ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and all other sectors.
They agreed to do so with effect from Wednesday midnight.
Furthermore, the two Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) agreed to address each other’s core issues and concerns which have propensity to disturb peace and lead to violence.
They reached this understanding in the interest of achieving mutually beneficial and sustainable peace along the borders.
Moreover, the two sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and all other sectors in a free, frank and cordial atmosphere.
They also reiterated to utilize existing mechanisms of hotline contact and border flag meetings to resolve any unforeseen situation or misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, military spokesman Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar, shared his views, while talking on private TV channels.
He recalled contact between India and Pakistan on a hotline level since 1987.
He further said that the DGMOs of both countries frequently stay in contact through this established mechanism.
However, he noted spike in in ceasefire violations along the LoC since 2014.
However, both the DGMOs have agreed that the existing 2003 understanding should be implemented in letter and spirit.
