Karachi police killed 13 takfiri nasbi terrorists of outlawed ASWJ and allied Taliban (TTP) and al-Qaeda during a raid in Sohrab Goth area of Karachi where they were plotting a major terror attack.
Officials said that they had raided a takfiri hideout in Deluxe Town area of Sohrab Goth following a tip-off. A contingent of police officers, headed by District Malir police chief SSP Rao Anwar, was cordoning off the location when they came under attack from the takfiri terrorists.
“We had a tip-off that the (takfiri) militants belonging to the Khan Zaman Mehsud group of banned TTP had gathered there to plot a major terror attack,” explained SSP Anwar while talking to media.
“Before we could cordon off their hideout and arrest them, the takfiri terrorists started attacking us but fortunately, all of us (policemen) remained unhurt.” Police faced stiff resistance from the takfiris who hurled grenades at the police. So intense was the firing, the police was forced to seek back up. Following an exchange of fire which lasted nearly two hours, the police prevailed and killed 13 militants.
The police further said the takfiri terrorist killed during the encounter belonged to different banned outfits (such as ASWJ, LeJ, Sipah-e-Sahaba and allied Taliban and Al-Qaeda).
Police officials said that there might be possible suicide bombers among the takfiris killed. They said they recovered huge cache of explosives, bombs, hand grenades, weapons and police uniforms during the raid.
