Families of Shia victims of enforced disappearance protest at Mazar e Quaid Karachi on the occasion of birth anniversary of founder of Pakistan today (Friday).
Members of the affected families and leaders and supporters of Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons participated in the protest demonstration.

Moreover, Maulana Haider Abbas Zaidi, Maulana Aqeel Moosa, Allama Sadiq Jafari, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Naveed Abbas and other members led the protesters.
The victim families and the JAC leaders lamented that they had to protest on 25th December because they want to remind the regime to follow father of the nation.
Furthermore, they said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah-led struggle for and independent and sovereign nation-state aimed to let citizens live their life as per their creed freely.
Therefore, the protesters said those who take policy of Mr. Jinnah for granted and violate his principles, lack moral right to celebrate Jinnah’s birth anniversary.
Furthermore, affected families said that the authorities concerned subject innocent Shia Muslims to enforced disappearance because of sectarian bias

That, protesters noted discriminatory and biased undeclared detention as a clear violation of rule of law and Mr. Jinnah’s ideology.
Meanwhile, Joint Action Committee and the families’ members reiterated their demand that victims of enforced disappearance should be either released or their cased be referred to the courts of law.
They reiterated that the Shia victims of enforced disappearance should be granted full legal rights to defend them in court through lawyers of their choice.
They also demanded that the families should also have access to their near and dear ones.

Meanwhile, protesters also slammed the authorities concerned for not honoring their words on the issue by not releasing the victims.
They lamented that, instead, those authorities concerned have begun subjecting more innocent people to enforced disappearance.
Moreover, the JAC and the families announced that they would continue their protest movement in phases. They further said their protest would be held across the country.
