Shia Ulema Council rejects Ch Pervaiz Ilahi support to anti Constitution legislation in Punjab province.

The SUC leader Allama Syed Sibtain Sabzwari referred to the party leadership clear policy that they would not accept any controversial and divisive legislation.

He expressed these views, while presiding over a consultative meeting of the SUC provincial chapter.

He further said that federal and provincial governments and other state institutions have accepted their logical and lawful stance.

Shia Islamic leadership in the country unanimously made clear that they would not accept imposition of other sects’ interpretation upon Shia Muslims.

Despite clarity of everything in the Constitution regarding the relevant matter, Allama Sabzwari said some elements are seeking to exert artificial pressure through Speaker Punjab Assembly.

Moreover, Allama Sibtain said they had held a meeting with Chaudhry Brothers in July this year and made clear that their statements portrayed them patrons of outlawed terrorist groups.

The SUC leader said that they had told Chaudhry Brothers that they were endangering national security through sectarianism and creating problems for the ruling coalition.

Allama Sibtain said they would not accept other sects to impose their sectarian interpretation upon Shia Muslims.
