New ambassador of China meets Chief of the Army Staff at GHQ – General Headquarters (GHQ) today (Monday).

The ambassador Nong Rong called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed mater of mutual interest, including regional security.

Both of them noted exceptional relations between Pakistan and China.

Furthermore, they pledged to further improve the bilateral relations.

According to DG ISPR’s tweet, visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in region.

On the other hand, opening ceremony of DRUZHBA-V held at Tarbela on Sunday.

Pakistan-Russian Federation Special Forces are participating in the two weeks long counterterrorism exercise.

National anthems of both countries were played at the start of the ceremony.

Russian ambassador to Pakistan Danila Ganich specially attended the ceremony.

Meanwhile, senior officials from both the armies also attended the event.

Pakistan has been improving its relations with Russia since Asif Zardari-led PPP government.

Specially, then army chief General Ashraf Pervaiz Kayani had begun playing active role in enhancing military to military ties between the two countries.

However, China has remained the closest and the friendliest ally of Pakistan since long.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has come as the latest example of depth of mutual trust and cooperation.
