Shia Islamic leaders and legislators meet Minister Afridi on Kohat issues, including closure of shrines of Islamic saints and mystics and Zaireen problems.

They informed Minister Shehryar Afridi of PTI about closure of shrine of Mir Anwar Shah and protest sit in of Shia Muslims in Kacha Pakka Kohat.

Those met Afridi included: SUC’s Allama Hameed Hassan Imami, Wahdat Council leader Allama Abdul Hussain Hussaini, Nasim Abbas, Zaheer Abbas and Kattu Khan.

Besides, MNA Sajid Hussain Turi and MPA Syed Iqbal Mian also accompanied them.

Delegations said Shia Muslims have begun holding a sit-in protest last month, while demanding reopening of the shrine of Mir Anwar Shah.

They also demanded end to restrictions on Shia pilgrims (Zaireen).

Shia protesters demand facilities for them during departure for and return from pilgrimage.

Meanwhile, Minister Shehryar Afridi assured them that he would talk to the authorities concerned to seek early redressal of their grievances.
