Allama Mirza Iftikharuddin granted bail

Allama Mirza Iftikharuddin granted bail as Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday held hearing on the bail plea of renowned Shia Islamic scholar.

A two-member bench of the court, comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Amir Farooq heard the case.

Justice Athar Minallah asked the lawyer if he knowns what his client Allama Mirza Iftikharuddin had said about the judge and the judiciary?”

The lawyer stated that Allama Mirza Iftikharuddin had apologized for his words.

Furthermore, the lawyer stated that his client had neither uploaded nor ensured that the video went viral.

The high court approved Mirza’s bail, asking him to deposit Rs1 million surety bonds.

Factually, the Supreme Court was hearing contempt of court case but IHC was just deciding about the bail.
