Pakistani Taliban Noor Wali Mehsud designating under UNSC 1267 welcomed.

Pakistan welcomed the designation of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader Noor Wali Mehsud by the UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee on its ISIL and Al-Qaida Sanctions List.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said the sanctions are being implemented by Pakistan in compliance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.

She said Pakistan hope that other countries will also follow suit.

Ms Farooqui noted TTP already a UN-designated terrorist organization and responsible for numerous terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

She said Pakistan has defeated TTP through comprehensive security operations in the country.

However, TTP continues to operate from outside Pakistan’s borders with support from its third-country facilitators.

The Spokesperson said Pakistan will continue to pursue its policy of fighting against those involved in participating, financing, planning, facilitating and perpetrating terrorism.

Notably, Pakistan is fighting two sorts of terror groups. One group use religious and sectarian card and TTP, ASWJ, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Daesh fall in that category.

On the other, ethnic separatist groups also perpetrate terror attacks.

Recently, they have killed police and private security guards at Pakistan Stock Exchange.

They also killed three soldiers of Pakistan Army in Panjgur.

However, TTP/ASWJ/LeJ types of terrorists attacked Pakistan Army soldiers in North Waziristan.
