Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtima’s bus raided, drug smugglers arrested

Punjab Police raided a bus carrying the Deobandi clerics from Peshawar to Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtima and arrested 3 Deobandis and seized huge quantity of narcotics from their possession in Muridke.

On a tip-off, Police conducted a raid and searched the bus at a CNG Station on Muridke GT Road. Huge quantity of narcotics worth hundreds of thousands of rupees was recovered and three Deobandi clerics were arrested. Police took them to police station for investigation.

It is surprising for many to know that after Deobandi seminaries’ links to terrorists, their involvement in narcotics smuggling has come to surface. It was not a new development because clerics made money during the tenure of Taliban in Afghanistan by narcotics smuggling. But, Tableeghi Ijtima too is being used for drug-peddling; it has been made public now.
