Pakistan Army Chief visits Peshawar to review latest security situation, according to ISPR.

It said Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Wednesday.

During that visit, top concerned officials briefed the army chief in detail regarding the prevailing security situation, progress on development works and socio-economic uplift in Tribal Districts.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa lauded improved security situation and measures for better border management including fencing.

Furthermore, the COAS appreciated security forces in assisting civil administration for fight against COVID-19; particularly the effective containment efforts.

Earlier, Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood accorded warm welcome and received him at Corps Headquarters.

Earlier, Army Chief had asked army personnel to remain vigilant in tackling the challenges ahead.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed these views during visit to Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) headquarters in Karachi.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, he also visited Corps 5 Headquarters Karachi on Thursday.

Earlier, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz received COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa upon his arrival.

As per ISPR, during the visit to the Corps Headquarters and Rangers Headquarters in Karachi, the Army Chief was also briefed on internal security and operational matters.

While talking to the Army personnel, the Army Chief said that they should stay vigilant in tackling the challenges ahead.
