9th Muharram Tasua azadari processions being taken out countrywide

Mourning processions (Matami juloos-e-aza) of 9th Muharram were being taken out in different cities to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala who sacrificed their lives under the leadership of Imam Hussain (AS) for the sake of Islam and humane values of Islam.

In Karachi, the main procession began from Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khorasan near the mausoleum of founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Mourners are gathering at Numaish Chowrangi. They are beating their chests saying Ya Hussain (AS). Noha Khwan are reciting nohas.

Reports of Tasua processions are being received from all over Pakistan including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Gilgit-Baltistan, Parachinar and other parts of the country.

As a security measure against probable terrorist attacks on mourners, the cellular networks have been switched off in the select sensitive cities of Pakistan.0 The services would also remained suspended on Ashura (10 Muharram) in most of the cities from 06:00 AM till 10:00 PM.
