One of his pupils, Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi will also address a virtual mourning congregation.

Hujjatul Islam Allama Syed Agha Jafar Naqvi was an eminent Shia Islamic scholar.

Himself an author, he also translated other books such as Ayatollah Khamenei’s book Depths of Prayers.

In Islamic religious education, Ayatollah Shaikh Shariat was his teacher.

However, both of them were practical scholars because they don’t believe in restricting themselves to conceptual theories of Islamic teachings.

Hence, they chose the way of Irfan, the sort of asceticism or mysticism in Shia Islam with difference from other forms of its kind.

That way, Agha Jafar ascended as a great and pious Islamic saint or ascetic. He taught and trained youth with the emphasis on servitude to God.

Agha Jafar taught them that as servant of God they must serve oppressed humanity.

The pious leader Allama Arif Hussaini and Agha Jafar also had close relations.

In the words of Ayatollah Abul Fazl Bahauddini, then- representative of Wali-e-Faqih Imam Syed Ali Khamenei, Syed Agha Jafar was a true follower of infallible Prophets (PBUT) and infallible Imams as well as Imam Khomeini.

In 2012, Agha Bahauddini spoke at a condolence meeting on the anniversary of Agha Jafar at Shohda-e-Karbala Imam Bargah Incholi in Karachi.

According to Agha Bahauddini, he first met Agha Jafar 21 years ago (1991) at Islamic Iranian Cultural Centre. Since then, he remained inspired by him.

He said he had also met Agha Jafar during his last days in this temporal world. He said he knew about sacred life of Agha Jafar.

Agha Bahauddini said that Imam Ali (AS) had narrated qualities of Muttaqeen (pious people), mentioned in Nahj ul Balaghah. He said he found numerous qualities of pious people found in Agha Jafar.

He said that Agha Jafar was seriously ill during last days of his life and he had gone to inquire about his health.
He said that his illness had resemblance with the illness of the Prophet of God Almighty namely Hazrat Ayyoob (AS).

Ayatollah Bahauddini said that Agha Jafar had understood Islam from all its aspects. Although Agha Jafar practiced Irfan (sort of asceticism in Shia Islam), yet he never ignored other aspects of Islam.

He said that Islam rejected traditional mysticism but Irfaniat is part of Islam.
