Martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali observed as per SOPs regarding Covid19 precautionary measures.
Shia Muslims mourned to mark the anniversary of Amirul Maumineen Maula Ali bin Abu Talib.

Imam Ali (AS) embraced martyrdom on Ramazan 21, 40th year after Hijrah.
Ibn Muljim had attacked him with poisonous sword at Kufa mosque in Iraq during Fajr prayers timings on Ramazan 19th.
To commemorate the anniversary of Imam Ali, Shia Muslims hold mourning congregations and processions.
Shia Islamic scholars highlight holy life of Imam Ali (AS) while some recite poetry.
The mourners also beat chest while reciting nohas that remain a traditional way to express grief and sorrow in Shia Islam.
However, Covid19 related situation has impacted everything around the world, including Pakistan.
Hence, Shia Muslims followed the precautionary measures mentioned in SOPs which government announced for all.
Government also restricted the gathering of people due to which selected people could participants in main congregation.
But they preferred to follow SOPs/precautionary measures and observed anniversary in a symbolic way.
