Quetta witnesses Shutter-down strike to mourn Shia genocide in Hazar Ganji
Pakistanis are mourning the massacre of Shia Muslims in Hazar Ganji by observance of shutter-down strike in Quetta and nation-wide protest on Friday.
A shutter-down strike is being observed in Quetta on to mourn the killing of eight members of the Shia Hazara community. Markets and shops located in the main commercial areas of the city remained close owing to the strike. Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) had given the call for commercial strike.
On the call of the MWM, demonstrations were staged in all over Pakistan. Condolence meetings were also held in the offices of the MWM. Leaders of the MWM spoke to the mourners. They condemned the takfiri terrorists and the government for Shia genocide in all over Pakistan.
They said that government’s inaction emboldened the takfiris who continued genocide against peaceful Shiites. They warned the government to launch crackdown on the takfiris and their allies forthwith otherwise Shia Muslims would begin a sit-in that would continue till the ouster of the rulers.
