MWM Pakistan secretary general said that administration was trying to ban azadari congregations on martyrdom anniversary of Amir al Maumineen Maula Ali (AS).

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad he asked the government to refrain from impeding mourners.

He said any restriction on azadari (sacred mourn) on martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) is not acceptable.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari said that in this regard they have sent letters to President and Prime Minister.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader further said that they have also sent letter to Minister for Religious Affairs.

He said that Shia Muslims have right to observe their religious and cultural rituals in accordance with the government’s SOPs.

He said that they had informed the meeting of President and Prime Minister with Islamic scholars that government authorities should not meddle into religious affairs.

However, Allama Raja Nasir lamented that provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab are trying to impede Shia Muslims azadari on Youm-e-Ali (AS).

Moreover, he asked the government to take Shia leaders into confidence and take a mutually agreeable decision.

MWM leader said that the rulers cannot impose their biased and unfair decisions on 80 million Shia Muslims in Pakistan. He rejected biased restrictions.
