Agha Ali Haider has filed a petition in Sindh High Court (SHC). He challenged the Sindh government’s Home Department notification.

He has requested the court to nullify the notification as unlawful.

Sindh government’s April 27th notification disallowed congregations for not being farz.

However, Agha Ali Haider cited that the government had already allowed religious congregations at mosques.

Similarly, government should allow Youm-e-Ali congregations during Ramazan with same conditions of SOPs implementation.

The azadars will follow the SOP during congregations/processions on 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Ramazan, he assured.

No Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar headed two-member bench of the SHC will hear the case Tuesday (tomorrow).

Shia Muslims are demanding end to unlawful and unfair ban which government notified while allowing others to hold congregations.
