Ghadeer celebrations continue in all over Pakistan

Shia Muslims continue to celebrate Eid-e-Wilayat-e-Ghadeer in all over the world including Pakistan. The Eid is celebrated every year in the last month of Islamic calendar to commemorate the formal announcement of Wilayat of Hazrat Ali (AS), first infallible Imam by Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be upon Him), the last apostle and Prophet of God in Ghadeer-e-Khum on way from Mecca to Medina after his last Hajj.

Shia areas such as Sadat Colony Incholi, Jafar-e-Tayyar Malir, Soldier Bazaar in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Parachinar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad Jamia tun Najaf Skardu, etc., and Shia mosques and Imam Bargahs and residential buildings were wearing bridegroom look. Streets and houses were illuminated. Celebrations were held in all Shia areas.

Apart from these events, Iranian Culture Centre hosted Eid-e-Ghadeer programs. In Karachi, Ayatollah Syed Abul Fazl Bahauddini and Mahdi Khatib spoke to the participants.

Special Quranic and cultural programs were held by the Iranian Cultural Center in Quetta. Seyyed Abulfadhl Husseini, who is in charge of the Center, said that a Quran competition on memorization of Surah Yasin was held among the city’s Dar-ul-Quran centers and the institute of religious studies all over Quetta.

The center also held Ghadeer book-reading contest among the schools and cultural centers in Quetta with the aim of introducing the event of Qadir and its importance in Islam.
