Punjab Assembly speaker welcomes Iran willingness to join CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) during meeting with ambassador of Iran in Lahore.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also called for enhanced brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran.

He said that that Pakistan wants to benefit from Iran’s experiences in various sectors.

He also announced Pakistan’s readiness to develop cooperation with Iran in the fields of mining and housing.

The speaker Punjab Assembly further said that Iran and Pakistan are two brotherly Islamic states.

He said bilateral Pakistan-Iran relations are increasing by each passing day.

Ch Pervaiz Elahi also called for trilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, and China.

Meanwhile, Ambassador of Iran also met with former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of Pakistan Muslim League-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to discuss matters of mutual interest and Iran-Pakistan ties.

Earlier, Iran ambassador Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini emphasized the importance of expanding people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

He also called for enhanced parliamentary cooperation.
The ambassador called for increasing the number of direct flights between Iran and Pakistan.

The ambassador also welcomed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said Iran is willing to join the project.
